Pittsburg Beautiful

Mission

Pittsburg Beautiful is a coalition, established in 1998, to improve the image and appearance of Pittsburg.  We work through support of government action, coordination with other like-minded organizations, and fostering individual responsibility for and appreciation of the beautification of Pittsburg.

Profile

 Partnering with the City Parks & Recreation Department, gardening care is given to landscaping, flowers, urns, benches, and islands.  Twelve city garden areas include the downtown hanging baskets and urns, a new succulent garden on N. Pine St, and the planters (5 large/2 small) at Farmer's Market .  Three "Welcome to Pittsburg" signs are also maintained.  Signature Pittsburg Beautiful gardens include:  The 20th & Bypass Welcome Sign/Sculpture, and Trail Head Park (11th & Broadway).  In 2025 an interest group was started, in caring for landscaping at Kiddie Land.  Also, a mural was added to the RV park, with the addition of a QR Code/"Explore Crawford County" for our visitors.   Miners and Immigrant Parks also benefit from the partnership with our Parks & Rec Department.

 Pittsburg Beautiful recognizes those individuals in the community who take pride in maintaining their homes and businesses! From May through October, winners are chosen, many nominated by neighbors, to be honored in The Morning Sun and Facebook.  These homes display a Pittsburg Beautiful sign throughout their month of recognition.
